Anisotropic behaviors characteristics for X100 high grade pipeline steel
In this paper, mechanical properties and microstructures for X100 are investigated with a series of tests, including not only experiments but also simulation.Tension and SENT tests in different directions are used to characterize the mechanical properties anisotropies in different directions. The microstructure is characterized by both fracture analysis and inclusion characteristics to infer the relation between voids growth and crack propagation during exterior load. Moreover,Dirichlet networks is also used to simulate the local spatial distribution of inclusions, which can show the distance among inclusions with photos. The result shows that Rm(tensile strength)and Rt0.5(yield strength)are higher in T direction, and A(elongation)is lower in this direction.Anisotropic behavior in tension test mainly occurs in the plastic stage and crack is easier to propagate along L direction. The inclusions are mainly make up of elongated inclusions and equiaxed inclusions, and the area fraction of equiaxed inclusions are more. The incline crack is found in the fractograph of L sample, the number and area fraction of inclusions is more in section S,and the average distance among inclusions is longest in section L.
