20-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic Acid,a Beneficial Endogenous Substance
20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid(20-HETE)as an important metabolism of arachidonic acid(AA).Since it was discovered,it was found the metabolism pathways by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)or mass spectrography(GC-MS)in multiple parts of various animal experimental models which mostly is rodent,and including the synthetases,which mainly is Cytochrome P450(CYPs),several antagonists,agonists,inhibitors.It was also found the obviously relationship between 20-HETE and diseases,especially cardiovascular disorders,which may be mainly related to oxidative stress reaction and vasoconstriction of blood vessel and ion channels in blood vessel and kidney.Apart from that,20-HETE promote a variety of proliferation of cells and organs,including blood vessel,maybe it related to wound closure and proceeding of hematologic diseases and some cancer need new and rich blood vessels.In general,20-HETE is not only a metabolite of AA,but it is a beneficial endogenous substance with a variety of physiological and pathological role,and can be studied as a promising goal of many disorders.
