In early-stage oral cavity cancer,head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) may spread to the cervical lymph nodes in up to 30 %of patients despite negative findings on clinical examination and imaging studies.For decades,there has been clinical equipoise regarding elective neck dissection (END) versus ”watching waiting” for these patients.
