In early-stage oral cavity cancer,head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) may spread to the cervical lymph nodes in up to 30 ％of patients despite negative findings on clinical examination and imaging studies.For decades,there has been clinical equipoise regarding elective neck dissection (END) versus ”watching waiting” for these patients.
