The Study of Bacterial Soft Rot on Banana

摘要：

In 2009, bacterial soft rot on banana was observed in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.The disease mainly infected rhizome and pseudostem, causing internal discoloration and decay.The leaves of infected plant turned yellow slowly, and eventually the whole plant wilted and died.In field banana bacterial soft rot caused serious damage with an incidence of 20％ ～40％.The pathogen was isolated and identified as Dickeya zeae based on its morphological characteristics, biological characteristics and sequence analysis of 16S rDNA, danX, gryB and recA.This is the first report of a Dickeya zeae causing soft rot on banana in China.During 2010 to 2012, the disease was surveyed in the main banana planting areas of Guangdong.
