Photodynamic therapy (PDT) for Bronchial Carcinoid Tumor: Report of One Case
Bronchial carcinoid tumors are neuroendocrine malignant tumors that account for about 1 ~ 2% of all primary tumors of the lung. There are two subtypes of lung carcinoid tumors: typical and atypical. The difference is based on biologic and clinical features. At present, complete surgical resection is the standard treatment. In this study, we report our experience of photodynamic therapy for a typical bronchial carcinoid tumor patient with the lesions extending to the left and right main bronchus, and the right inferior lobar bronchus and explore the feasibility of PDT for bronchial carcinoid tumor patients who are not suitable for resection.
