The Influence of Core Permeability on the Oil Displacement Efficiency of CO2 Flooding
In order to study the influence of core permeability on the efficiency of CO2 displacement, the minimum miscible pressure (MMP) between CO2 and oil was determined through slim tube oil displacement experiments, and then CO2 displacement experiments were conducted under immiscible and miscible conditions in models having different permeabilities. The results show that as the permeability of the core models decreased, the gas breakthrough oil displacement efficiency of both immiscible and miscible CO2 flooding increased;additionally, miscible flooding had higher gas breakthrough oil displacement efficiency than immiscible flooding. The total oil displacement efficiency of immiscible CO2 flooding increased as the core permeability decreased, indicating that the lower the permeability, the higher the total oil displacement efficiency. The total oil displacement efficiency of miscible CO2 flooding can be maintained above 90%, and core permeability does not affect it greatly, which differs from immiscible flooding.
