Application of Various Particle Gels in China Oilfields
Gel treatment is a technology to inject the crosslinked polymer into the formation to block the fractures and channels, which allows the water to divert unswept areas/zones to improve sweep efficiency.A large number of gel treatments have been successfully applied to the oilfields with fractures and channels to improve the oil recovery.Compared with the traditional in-situ gel, particle gel has been recently developed and applied in mature oilfields because they have some obvious advantages over traditional in-situ gels.In this paper, we summarize and analyze the data on the evaluation of particle gels in laboratory and field appli1cation.
