IS Strategic Value Creation Based on Competency-Hierarchical Structure

　　To investigate the mechanism of information systems (IS) strategic value creation, an integrated model of IS impacts on firm competitive advantage is constructed based on competency-hierarchical structure and strategic management theory.The IS capabilities hierarchy structure affects business value as mediator variable, which comprises IS capability, IS support capability and IS application capability, and it helps firms to achieve competitive advantage through three strategic processes which are capability-building process, co-evolution process and firm adaptation process.This paper presents an IS strategic value creation model for firms-level deployment of IS capabilities hierarchy, and provides theoretical basis for further empirical research
