MPI Based 3D Plasma Simulation on Xeon Phi
3D plasma simulations have been widely used in the study of plasma.This paper ports a particle-in-cell based plasma code, LARED-P, on Xeon Phi, which is a many-core coprocessor with 512-bit wide vector extension.We port LARED-P on Xeon Phi by employing MPI standards.We also optimize the implementation through manually vectorization.The evaluation shows that our implementation scales well on Xeon Phi.Moreover, the SIMD-based optimization achieves speedups up to 4.61.
