Power-loss Estimationfor Low Voltage Automotive PMSM Inverter
An estimation method for calculating inverter power loss is proposed for space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM)widely used in the 48v,24v and 12v vehicle drive system.Firstly,this paper studies the switching power loss of the MOSFET(metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor)in detail.Then the conduction power losses of the MOSFET in the six vector sectors are calculated separately and summed up.After that,a simulation model for torque close loop control was built in PLECS environment.The power losses are modelled by a table in the simulation,then the MOSFET die temperature and thermal sink temperature are thus simulated also.The simulationresults showed that the inverter system performs well with fast system response and good thermal behavior which will guide real thermal engineering.
