The Effect of Forming reduction on the Springback of the Bipolar Plate”s Flow Channel for Micro Fuel Cell

  The bipolar plate is a key component of the micro fuel cell.It is difficult to form the flow channel of the bipolar plate under the micro scale with high precision.Here, a method of accumulative forming for the characteristics of bipolar plate is presented.On the basis of introducing the principle of micro-accumulation forming, we set up the corresponding experimental apparatus, selecting 11 mm × 11 mm × 0.165mm and 11 mm × 11 mm × 0.27mm aluminum plates as the bipolar plate blanks to perform the accumulated forming test.We analyze the forming law and the influence of different amount of forming reductions on the forming depth and springback rate.The forming depth-displacement curves shows that the plates with different forming reductions, the forming depth is bigger at the starting and end points, while it becomes smaller near the middle point.At the same time, the forming depth also increases along with the amount of vertical press, and as a result, the curves gradually become gentle.Furthermore, the trend of the springback rate-displacement reduction curves are opposite to the forming depth-displacement curves.It means the springback rate is smaller at the starting and the end points, while springback rate is bigger in the middle point.Similarly, we can also find that the springback rate is bigger and the changes of the springback rate curves are gentle when the amount of the vertical press increases.
