Performance Evaluation of Granular Activated Carbon and Nanofiltration for Removal of Octylphenol, Caffeine, and Carbamazepine
Recently, the presence of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the aquatic environment has caused a great concern in public health. As a results, the objective of this study is to evaluate the granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption and nanofiltration (NF) process behavior of EDC/PPCPs.Three neutral target compounds, including octylphenol (OP),caffeine (CAF) and carbamazepine (CBZ), were used in this study to conduct the experiments of adsorption and nanofiltration in batch reactors.
