Thermoelectric properties of (PbSnGe)M (M=Te, Te0.8Se0.2 and Te0.8S0.2) solid solutions
The (PbSnGe)M (M =Te, Te0.8Se0.2 and Te0.sS0.2) solid solutions were prepared by high temperature melting or high frequency induction melting, followed by the spark plasma sintering (SPS).Their thermoelectric properties were investigated.All solid solutions show p-type conduction.The electrical resistivities, absolute Seebeck coefficients and thermal conductivities for these solutions are the values between those of PbTe and GeTe.As a results, figure of merit ZT for the solution are the value between those of PbTe and GeTe in lower temperature but higher that those of PbTe and GeTe in higher temperature.The maximum figure of merit ZT of 1.33 was found in (PbSnGe)(Te0.sS0.2) at 823 K.
