Liquidus surface projection of the Ti-V-Zr ternary system
The liquidus surface projection of the Ti-V-Zr system was investigated using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and differential thermal analysis (DTA).Three primary solidification phase fields of bcc (V), bcc (Zr) and V2Zr were constructed, and the temperature 1485 K for ternary eutectic reaction (liquid→bcc(V)+bcc(Zr)+V2Zr) was determined by the thermal analysis.The solidification paths of all samples were analyzed in the present work No ternary compound was found in the liquidus surface projection.
