The thermal stability and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of Pd82Si18 amorphous ribbon
The thermal stability and non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of Pd82Si18 amorphous prepared by melting spinning were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) including high resolution TEM.It was found that the glass transition temperature (Tg), the onset crystallization temperature (Tx), the value of crystallization peak (Tp), as well as the activation energies of crystallization were dependent on the heating rate.The Avrami exponent, n, is in the range from 2.21 to 3.23, indicating that the transformation from amorphous state to crystalline phase is a complex process with different mechanisms of nucleation and growth.
