The zinc rich corner of the Zn-Al-Co-Fe quaternary system at 450℃
The 450℃ isothermal section of Zn-Al-Co-Fe system with Zn being fixed at 93 at.% has been determined using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometer and X-ray diffraction analysis.The results show that there are six four-phase equilibrium regions in this isothermal section.The solubility of cobalt in ζ phase (FeZn13) is 3.6 at.%.The maximum solubility of zinc in Fe2Al5, FeAl3,Co2Al5 and Co4Al13 is 14.6 at.%, 13.4 at.%, 16.0 at.% and 9.7 at.%, respectively.The CoAl phase can be equilibrium with L, ζ, δ, T, Fe2Al5, FeAl3 and Co2Al5, respectively.
