The effect of structural parameters on the tensile properties of C/SiC pipe
The current work investigates the effect of structural parameters on the tensile properties of C/SiC pipe through finite element analysis (FEA) based on Classical Laminate Theory. The results from FEA indicate that ply orientation angle is an important structural parameter affecting the tensile properties of C/SiC pipe, tensile fracture strength, fracture strain and the rigidity of C/SiC pipe all firstly decreases and then increases with the increase of ply orientation angle. The tensile fracture strength and strain fluctuate in small range as the change of layer numbers. The C/SiC pipes with stacking sequence of ”± 45°” possess the lowest tensile fracture strength and the C/SiC pipes with stacking sequence of ”± 10°” possess relatively excellent tensile fracture strength.
