Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Sub-rapidly Solidified Fe-Mn Based Alloy Strip
The purpose of this paper was to investigate the microstructure and the mechanical properties of Fe-Mn binary alloys and Fe-Mn-C ternary alloys prepared by using sub-rapid solidification technique.The results demonstrated that the ε-martensite and α”-martensite would be directly formed in the sub-rapidly solidified Fe-Mn and Fe-Mn-C samples.And the lath width of ε-martensite and α”-martensite was lower than that of sample produced by conventional method.The mechanical properties of Fe–Mn and Fe-Mn-C samples prepared by sub–rapidly solidification were even higher than those by hot rolled and heat treated.This work discusses the relationship between the microstructure and the mechanical properties of the strips.
