Numerical Simulation of Milling Processes of UOE Edge Milling Machine and Influence Analysis on Accuracy

  To simulate edge milling process of the milling machine of a UOE welding pipe line,the geometric models of milling cutters and steel plate were built by Pro/E software,and the virtual milling process was simulated based on Open Inventor software.The material model of plate was built according to the physical properties of X80 API.In 10.3mm thick steel Case,the milling process was simulated respectively both for blunt edge milling cutter and for bevel milling cutter.The average value of milling force was obtained.The deformation and displacement contour of plate were achieved under milling force by ABAQUS software,and then the maximum deformation of plate was gotten after milling.The effect on the milling quality from cutter deviation was analyzed from the point of view of foundation offset.These studies provides theoretical reference and technical support for learning milling process,rational formulating of process parameters,the guarantee of plate milling accuracy and the normal running of the production line.
