Isolation of a Bluetongue virus group-specific monoclonal antibody and application to a diagnostic competitive ELISA

Object:Bluetongue (BT) disease is caused by infection with Bluetongue virus (BTV).The mortality ratecan be as high as 50–70 ％in certain sheep breeds.Here,we describe the BTV VP7 group-specific Mab4H7 and identify the key amino acid residues in the VP7 protein that contribute to a conformational epitope.And we developed a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) using Mab 4H7 andrecombinant BTV VP7 protein.
