Parkin prevents Prp106-126 peptide induce toxicity in N2a cells

Introduction: Transmissible spongiform encephalopathy’s (TSEs) are a group of fatal neurodegenerative diseases of animals and humans. These diseases are caused by the deposition of an abnormal iso-form of prion protein (PrPSc). Protein aggregation, misfolding and toxicity in the brain are the major causes of neuronal dysfunction. The Ubiquitin Proteosome System (UPS) is the major pathway that targets defective and misfolded proteins for destruction and recycling.
