Study on the blending modification of PPC emulsion by using PLA emulsion
Poly (propylene carbonate) (PPC) is alternating copolymer which synthesized by CO2 and propylene oxide (PO).Compared with other polyester, PPC is a novel kind of polyester with completely biodegradation which can be used as disposable packaging materials, and medical materials.Currently there are few reports about getting PPC/PLA blending materials through the latex blending.In this paper, modifications of PPC by emulsion blend of PPC latex and PLA copolymers were introduced.Methods An emulsion blend method was developed to prepare the composite of PPC/PLA based on the solid content rate of PPC ∶ PLA=9∶1、 8∶2、 7∶3、 6∶4、 5∶5 stir lh.The results show that the blending system is not so stability.The thermal and mechanical properties test found that with the content of PLA increased, the tensile strength of the blends film is significantly improved and the highest elongation at break appeared at the PLA content of 20%.With the content of PLA increased, the thermal stability of the blending materials is also been significantly improved.And when the solid content rate of PPC ∶ PLA is 5∶5, only one step TG is showed.
