The Interpersonal Meanings of News Discourse: A Perspective of Appraisal Theory

　　The reporter”s viewpoint, attitude and ideology loaded in the news discourse are part of the total meaning of a discourse — the interpersonal meanings.This article investigates the interpersonal meanings of one sample news discourse under the framework of the Appraisal Theory in hope of helping the reader to gain a critical comprehension of news discourse, and also bringing some enlightenment to the English Reading and Writing Teaching.
