Objective: The study aimedto evaluate the effectiveness of ”Touching three peaks and filtering” therapy (Chinese ancient Fangzhongshu therapy) in the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE).Methods: A total of116 PE patients were randomly divided into an experience group (34 lifelong PE patients and 24 acquired PE patients, all of whom received the ”Touching three peaks and filtering” therapy for 8 weeks) and a control group (35 lifelong PE patients and 23 acquired PE patients, all of whom received dapoxetine 60 mg on demand for 8 weeks).The intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) and the Chinese sexual function index for premature ejaculation (CIPE) were recorded after 4 weeks of treatment, after 8 weeks of treatment, and 4 weeks after withdrawal for clinical assessment.Results: The IELT and every part of the CIPE scores all improved compared with the baseline (P<0.05) in both the lifelong and acquired PE patients.Four weeks after withdrawal, the IELT and every part of the CIPE scores of the experience group were better than that of the control group (P<0.05) in both the lifelong and acquired PE patients.Conclusions: ”Touching three peaks and filtering” therapy is definitely efficient and has fewer adverse effects; therefore, it needs to be popularized and applied as a remedy for PE.
