Efficacy of inhaled Seretide(salmeterol/fluticasone 50ug/250ug)on bronchiectasis patients with reversible airflow limitation

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of inhaled seretide (salmeterol/fluticasone 50ug /250ug) on bronchiectasis patients with reversible airflow limitation.Methods:200 bronchiectasis patients diagnosed with HRCT in our hospital were underwent evaluation with clinical manifestation scores and pulmonary function test.According to the results of bronchial provocation or dilation test,60 bronchiectasis patients with reversible airflow limitation were enrolled and randomized into two groups (study and control).Additional inhaled Seretide (salmeterol/fluticasone 50ug /250ug) was prescribed in the study group on the base of conventional therapy in the control group. The primary endpoint is exacerbation times, clinical manifestation scores and FEV1 after 1 year”s observation. Results: Patients of the study group had less exacerbation times than that of the control group (P<0.01).The clinical manifestation scores of the study group achieved significant improvement compared to the control group (P<0.01),and the FEV1 of the study group was better than the control group (P<0.01) as well. Conclusion:The additional treatment of inhaled Seretide (salmeterol/fluticasone50ug /250ug) in bronchiectasis patients with reversible airflow limitation will contribute to improvement of the clinical effectiveness and lung function.
