Intrinsic factors and neural fate commitment of ectoderm
Cell fate determination is accomplished by the cooperation between extrinsic signals and intrinsic factors including transcription factors as well as epigenetic regulators. However, how neural induction is regulated by epigenetic factors remains largely unknown. Here,we show that transient histone deacetylation at the epiblast stage is required for the neural differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs).The deletion of HDAC1 in mESCs partially phenocopies the inhibition of histone deacetylation.
