Regulation of vertebrate ciliogenesis and heart development

摘要：

Cilia are microtubule-basedorganelles that mediate signal transduction and control heart development.Despite their importance,the signaling cascades that regulate cilia formation and heart developmentremainincompletely understood.Here we report that prostaglandinsignaling is crucial to ciliogenesis and left-right asymmetry of heart development.We analyzed the zebrafish leakytail (lkt) mutant that displays ciliogenesis defects andcilia-associated malformations,including randomized heart looping and hydrocephalus.
