A Compact Circular Bandpass Filter With Mixed Electric and Magnetic coupling
This paper presents a compact circular filter with mixed electric and magnetic coupling.The proposed bandpass filter (BPF) contains only two resonators,which has two separate coupling paths:electric coupling path and magnetic coupling path.The electric coupling is realized by coupled double step impedance resonators (CDSIRs),while the grounded via-hole offers the magnetic coupling.A transmission zero close to the passband is introduced due to the mixed coupling between two resonators.The location of this zero point can be adjusted freely by changing the strength of electric coupling or magnetic coupling.This filter occupies only 0.1λg×0.1λg,where the λg is the guide wavelength at the center frequency of the passband.Simulated results have been derived by Ansoft HFSS to verify the validity of the method.
