Quad-band PIFA With a Meandered for Internal Mobile Phone
When the size and volume of the mobile phone decreases,the allowablespace for antenna design becoming smaller.In this letter,a quad-band planar inverted F-antenna (PIFA) with meandered for mobile application is proposed.Because the surface current path is meandered and folded,it has a low profile and a simple structure that makes it easy to manufacture.The PIFA antenna produces the first resonant frequency at 0.9GHz band;an additional resonance near 2 GHz band was generated by adding an open stub.The impedance matching characteristic was also improved.The proposed PIFA antenna can cover GSM (880-960 MHz)、 DCS (1710-1880 MHz)、 PCS (1850-1990 MHz)、 UMTS(1920-2170 MHz).A stable radiation pattern and maximum antenna gain is estimated to be 2.33 dBi for both 900/2000 bands operating bandwidth.
