Word Class Distinctions in L2 Chinese Learners
This study investigates word class distinctions in L2 Chinese by English learners. It is found that learners rely primarily on semantic cues rather than syntactic distribution patterns.Furthermore, increased exposure to L2 does not lead to increased knowledge of word classes, suggesting a lack of implicit learning. The study suggests pedagogical intervention is called upon to assist learners in this area.
