From Duality to Unity :Integrating Language and Culture in Chinese Classrooms

  This paper attempts to promote a new approach to cultural integration and immersion, which distinguishes itself by treating the exquisite connection between language and culture in a systematic and structured manner.Instead of taking culture as a set of behavioral practices or social conditions, advanced textbooks should identify and gain insights into the very fabric of Chinese culture that governs personal behavior and directs social dynamics.Culture thus becomes the very core of language learning, transitioning its role from context to text ,and its relation with language from duality to unity.
