INTRODUCTION Composting is a common substrate making practice, where the controlled decomposition results in stabilized and sanitized organic matter that can be used as soil conditioner in agriculture and forestry.Substrates play an important role in plant seedling production.Several organic and inorganic substrates are being used in different combinations for commercial production of plant seedlings; hence the inherent properties and their effects on plant growth and development need to be investigated.
