Reduction of Cavitation Around the Butterfly Valve (Cavitation Reduction by a Partly Enlarged Pipe)

0 Introduction The butterfly valve is one of the valves that have been used in all of the industrial plants, because of its compact and easy structure.Also the merit of control performance is noted compared with ball valve and gate valve.However, the globe valve and the rotation plug valve are the mainstream of control valve used on the condition of high differential pressure and high flow velocity, because the butterfly valve causes cavitation easily.The purpose of this study is to present the method of reducing the cavitation noise occurring around a butterfly valve.
