Never Cease To Make Efforts to Train Qualified Engineers of Applied Sciences--A Case of International Comparisons about Tertiary Education in Applied Sciences Universities

  Globalization has been sweeping across every corner of the world and its impact on education has become increasingly explicit as time goes by.Institutions of higher learning the world over are exploring effective approaches on how to train highly qualified engineers to meet the needs of and address the challenges from the process of industrialization.This paper will,through comparing the principles,goals as well as requirements by School of Swanson Engineering,Pittsburgh University,Fachhochschule,Siemens,Germany and Shanghai Institute of Technology,China,discuss the implications on the education of qualified engineers of applied sciences by taking into account profound changes deriving from the economic and social structures in international context and propose some strategies for further endeavor to be made by universities of applied sciences in this regard.
