Study on the Manufacturing Technology of Korean Traditional Glue ”Gatpul”
Gatpul(animal glue) is a representative adhesive which had been used all over the world.Our ancestors had manufactured Gatpul from ancient times and used diversely, but regretfully its traditional manufacturing technique was lost.The object of this study is to restore the traditional technique of our ancestors who manufactured Gatpul using oxhide and to clarify the manufacturing mechanism and its characteristics.
