Provenance Interpretation of Coal Which was Excavated from Mado I Line in Taean
We conducted research into origin and type of coal excavated by Mado I in Taean, Korea. The type of coal was proven pitch coal (subbituminous coal) through X-ray diffraction analysis, the measurement of carbonization degree, technical analysis and elementary analysis.Pitch coal (subbituminous coal) was excavated in Jangi and Dogu in Pohang, Korea. The caloric value from coals in Dogu is 8,029kcal/kg which is similar to the caloric value 8,136kcal/kg from coals excavated by Mado I.The volatile matter in Jangi is 47.07% similar to that of coals by Mado I, 49.40%.But the main component of fly ash was different in both sites. The component analysis of fly ash could be very different according to a seam of coal even though excavated in the same sites. As a result the coal excavated by Mado I could be brought from Jangi and Dogu in Pohang.
