Stability Evaluation and Conservation of the Mural Paintings of Bokwangmyeong Hall of Wibongsa Buddlist Temple, Wanju
Avalokite(s)vara mural painting”s wall structure stability evaluation and mural painting conservation treatment were conducted in order to stabilize the painting layer and to reinforce the wall with regard to damages caused to the mural painting surface and the wall.γ-ray scanning enabled an obtaining of effective information of frames and cracks inside the wall, and these results were utilized for conservation treatment and monitoring.Regarding conservation treatment, wall structure reinforcement work, as well as stabilization of the painting layer and finishing layer of the painting surface was conducted.For conservation treatment of Bokwangmyeong Hall of Wibong Buddhist Temple, wall stability was evaluated, the mural painting structure stability was evaluated, and also detailed information of damaged areas was used in conservation treatment.
