An Intelligent Video Monitoring System for Patient Care
We designed an intelligent video monitoring system for patient care based on the traditional monitoring equipment.This system can detect the fall in the daily life of patients and other abnormal behavior and notify the caregivers.In this paper,we propose a novel block-based foreground extraction method based on a block based background model which reduces the storage greatly and utilizes the spatial information.And we use an adaptive threshold for extracting foreground.Also,we propose a method for shadow and illumination change detection and removal based on segmentation.Compared with the single Gaussian model,the proposed method is more accurate.Then we calculate the body”s velocity and other parameters to determine the status of human behavior.
