Visual Information Lifecycle Model Based on Building Information Model for Construction Management
Construction project, which is divided into many independent management phases and involves a great number of professional participants, has the characteristics of being temporary, long period, diversity of communication environment.Therefore, construction information is of complexity, dynamicity, multiparameter etc, which makes multi-stage and multi-user information exchange and sharing be the key factor to achieve the accomplishment of the construction project.However, there has been the severe problem of information distortion and information loss, which decreases the efficiency of construction project management.An information lifecycle approach is presented in this paper to manage construction information efficiently by visual information lifecycle model based on BIM (Building Information Model), which offers the participants all information about the construction timely and comprehensively so that it can be achieved to manage the construction project lifecycle dynamically.At the same time, the model provides the participants with a platform for communication and construction information sharing.This model makes information exchange, information sharing and integrated management of construction project information possible and highly improves the efficiency of construction project management.
