Preparation of a Cellulose-Derived Carbon-Based Solid Acid Catalyst for Esterification
A carbon-based solid acid catalyst is prepared by incomplete carbonization of pulp fibers followed by sulfonation.XRD,FT-IR and acid density tests are employed to characterize the structure and performance of the catalysts.The results show that the catalyst is an amorphous carbon composed of aromatic carbon sheets with-COOH,-OH and-SO3H groups.The catalyst exhibits excellent catalytic activity for the esterification of acetic acid.Moreover,the catalyst has good thermal stability and reusability.
