The Implication of Legal Codification

The distinction between Anglo-Saxon law and continental law is well established.The first is based on precedents, the latter on codification.Now China has opted for the continental legal system.I shall not discuss whether this classification is still correct or whether the two different legal systems are currently assimilating.I shall rather raise the question as of whether legal codification is a value-free technique or linked to a particular conception of law.
