The Importance of LL.M.Programs and Other Foreign Study Opportunities in the Exchange and Integration of Contemporary Legal Systems
Submitted for:The First International Conference on Comparative Law and Global Common Law Sponsored by:College of Comparative Law, China University of Political Science and Law This paper suggests that a major contributor to the ”Exchange and Integration of Contemporary Legal Systems” is the practice of law students studying in different countries other than their own home country.Such mobility of students across borders naturally increases the traveling students” comparative understanding of different legal systems and traditions. But the benefits do not only flow one direction toward the foreign students-in fact, the professors and students at the host institutions learn as much from the foreign students as the foreign students learn themselves.
