Analysis and optimization of heat pump driven liquid desiccant hybrid air-conditioning systems

  Heat pump driven liquid desiccant (HPLD) hybrid air-conditioning systems are being applied more broadly in areas with hot temperature and high humidity.In this paper,a novel HPLD self-regenerating system was firstly introduced,in which liquid desiccant with lowconcentration and low-temperature was used in air dehumidification.Then,the system was studied by using both first and second law of thermodynamic analysis.During the study,a validated numerical model for system simulation was used,and exergy destruction calculation method was created.Based on the results,an improved system structures was provided and compared with the basic HPLD-SR system,under the same steady state condition.The results showed that,compared with the basic system,ECOPsys of the system with solution selfcycles was 38.5% higher,and its exergy efficiency was increased from 10.13% to 14.05%.
