Fault analysis of Multi-terminal HVDC for Wind Power Transmission
This paper investigates the fault characteristics of LCC-MTDC for wind power transmission.The topology is proposed firstly and fully exploits the flexible power flowing transfer capability of MTDC,bal-ancing the generation side power and the load power demand.Then,the control references calculation for the controller are given and the control methodologies of the complex integration system are addressed.The co-ordination control strategy is developed to transfer all the wind power into the MTDC and ensure the stable operation of the MTDC system.In addition,the dc fault characteristics of the system are analyzed and the ef-fectiveness of the controllers is verified under the permanent dc line fault by simulation in PSCAD/EMTDC.Results show LCC-MTDC could achieve desirable operational performances with the control strategy pro-posed.
