Multi-step Predictive Control for Output Current of Three-Phase Grid-Connected Inverters

Model predictive control (MPC) scheme is an optimization control scheme; this scheme has the advantages of fast dynamic response, flexibility of control system constraints. But when it controls the in-verter,the MPC scheme could only make sure the selected switching function set optimize in one control cy-cle,and will cause the system to be conservative and affect control performance of the system. In this paper,a control scheme multi-step MPC prediction was proposed,in which both the optimal and suboptimal switching function sets were considered in one control cycle, and the selected switching function set was optimal in two control cycles. The performance of the proposed predictive control scheme is compared with traditional MPC scheme. The results verify that the quality of inverter output current controlled by the multi-step MPC is better than that controlled by the traditional MPC,so the validity and feasibility of the scheme is validated.
