Fast detection of dengue infection using silver nanoparticles immobilized plastic LSPR sensor strips
Dengue infection,also known as breakbone fever,is one of the most notorious infection diseases in tropical area.It is transmitted by several species of mosquito.The virus has 5different sub-types.Infection with one subtype does not provide immunity to the remaining 4.In fact,it only makes it even worse when infected with another subtype.There is considerable possibility that the disease develops into the life-threatening dengue hemorrhagic fever,resulting in bleeding,low levels of blood platelets and blood plasma leakage,or into dengue shock syndrome,where dangerously low blood pressure occurs.In China,there is a recent outbreak in Gruangdong province,where more than 30,000 cases have been confirmed,with a daily increase of more than 1000 new cases.
