Effect of different calcined temperature of ZnO/REC on characterization and photocatalytic activity of ZnO/REC nanocomposite
The zinc oxide/rectorite/chitosan(ZnO/REC/Cs) nanocomposite as a photocatalyst was prepared with different calcined temperature of ZnO/REC using the sol-gel method. The structure and properties were recognized with X-ray diffractor(XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) methods. The XRD study exhibited that the cryst allization behavior of the nanocomposites was associated with the calcined temperature. The SEM images indicated that with increasing the calcined temperature of ZnO/REC until 500 ℃, regular morphology can be seen.It should be of interest for catalytic purposes since it expectantly improves the surface area.Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity of the synthesized nanocomposites was investigat ed for decolorization of Methylene blue (MB) in water under simulated sunlight irradiation in a batch reactor. The results revealed that the photocat-alytic activity of nanocomposite with calcined temperature 500 ℃ of ZnO/REC was the best.
