Irradiation-induced Hippocampal Neurogenesis Impairment Is Associated with Epigenetic Regulation of bdnf Gene Transcription

Objective(s):Radiation-induced cognitive decline affects the quality of life for cancer survivors.There are evidences that neurogenesis impairment in hippocampus play a key role.But the pathogenesis remains unknown.This study aimed to detect potential pathogenesis of radiation-induced neurogenesis impairment by investigating whether radiation inhibits BDNF-Trkb signaling in hippocampus,and to reveal whether or not bdnf gene transcription was repressed via histone acetylation.
