Down syndrome(DS) is the most common chromosomal abnormality in humans caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21.In addition to musculoskeletal and neurodevelopmental abnormalities,pediatric patients with DS also display various hematologic disorders and are atincreased risk of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and acute megakaryocyticleukemia.
