Test and analysis on the performance index of helical tomotherapy device
Helical tomotherapy device (TOMO device) is a kind of equipment integrated with CT and linear accelerator together,specifically designed for image-guided intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).The image-guided IMRT with TOMO device is implemented using megavoltage CT (MVCT) in real-time while continuous rotation and couch moving are actualized in a mode of similar to the spiral CT scanning,and it represents the tomo-radiotherapy technology in the latest generation.Because of fan-shaped narrow beam treatment style and online MVCT are used simultaneously,not only can the position change of patient focus be monitored in the course of treatment,but also the irradiation dose delivered to patient every time be rebuilt through the acquisition of online 3D images,and the excess dose area and deficient dose area can be determined comparing with the iso-dose curve of original treatment plan.Therefore,an individual dose guided adaptive radiotherapy (Dose Guided Adaptive Radiation Therapy,DGART) can be achieved in the guide of subsequent radiotherapy dose adjustment of the interest region.
